Digital Storytelling to Increase Engagement in Reading English Texts for High School Students in Depok

This study aims to analyze how digital storytelling can increase the involvement of high school students in reading English texts. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach, where data is collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and students, observation of the learning process, and analysis of documentation related to the application of digital storytelling in the classroom. The interviews aimed to explore the experiences and perceptions of students and teachers, while observations were made to observe changes in the level of student involvement in reading texts. The data obtained was analyzed by thematic analysis techniques to identify patterns of student involvement in the digital storytelling-based learning process. The validity of the data is maintained through triangulation of sources and methods to ensure the validity of the research findings. The results of the study show that digital storytelling significantly increases student engagement in reading English texts by presenting a more interactive and engaging learning experience. The contribution of this research provides insight for educators about the effectiveness of digital storytelling as an innovative strategy for improving students' literacy skills at the high school level.
